YELLOW FLOWERS ON THE GREEN GRASS (TÔI THẤY HOA VÀNG TRÊN CỎ XANH)

Based on the novel by Nguyen Nhat Ánh, this coming-of-age drama unfolds against the picturesque, rural countryside of central Vietnam. Twelve-year-old Thieu and his younger brother Tuong are best friends who spend their days trying to unravel the mysteries that lie within the forest, helping their parents take care of their home, and attempting to stay out of trouble. While Tuong idolizes his older brother, Thieu is secretly jealous of his younger brother's intelligence and the praise he receives from their parents. When the object of Thieu's affection, Moon, moves into their house following a fire that consumes their neighbour's home, the brothers' bond is tested. Tuong's emotions boil over, leading him to physically lash out at Thieu — changing everything within in a split-second. As Tuong must learn to deal with his guilt, the brothers begin to repair their relationship and the true meaning of friendship is revealed.
