With the arrival of multiplexes the single screen cinema halls in India have had a financial set back. Most patrons have moved to cozy, stylish multiplexes which offer a better experience. The theme of this film is a tribute to the single screen cinema halls that are rapidly becoming rare in India and how it affects a father-son relationship as the business deteriorates.

Director Biography

Kaushik Ganguly is a Film Director and Screenwriter from Kolkata. With a degree in Bengali literature and a strong theatre background, he started a theatre troupe with his future wife actress Churni Ganguly and Suman Mukhopadhyay. In 2004 Kaushik directed his first feature film ‘Waarish’ which didn’t do well commercially but he soon came up with yet another film ‘Shunyo E Buke’ (2005). This film won critical acclaim. He cast Film director Rituparno Ghosh as the lead in his 2010 film ‘Arekti Premer Golpo’ about a gay documentary filmmaker and a transgender Jatra actor. His films ‘Rang Milanti’, ‘Laptop’,  ‘Shabdo’,  (2013) have done well and won several national and international awards. His film ‘Chotoder Chabi’ (2015) won the Best Feature Film awards at the 6th Jagran Film Festival in 2015.
