CHOTAY SHAH

The Shahs were once wealthy land-owners with large, ostentatious mansions and parties galore. However, India’s partition led to them losing out on their wealth. Over generations their fortune began to diminish. One such unfortunate family is Mohammad Asghar’s. He and his mother Bibi continue to live in their last remaining ancestral property in Karachi. After his father’s death and his brother’s relocation, Asghar has been saddled with the responsibility of his aging mother. Meanwhile, Asghar's wife Nazia has left home under the pretext of doing a PhD in London, but the truth is far from that. Bound by duty and debt as he tries to maintain the family’s last kothi, Asghar is driven by desperation and ends up making rash decisions with surprising outcomes.
